Colin Ellard: space of emotions
In my talk for the Moscow City Festival, Colin will describe his experimental approach to understanding the psychology of the city. He has used both experimental simulations in virtual reality and site-specific studies conducted during psychogeographic walks to map the relationship between where we are and how we feel and behave. He will argue that human beings have a deeply rooted attraction to vitality. Vitality can take many forms, ranging from the simple presence of nature, to attractive and interesting design, and even to the sense that many people have a chance to participate and contribute to urban life. The most successful cities will be the ones that satisfy this deep attraction to vitality.
